Case study: Picture framing | compliment the art, rather than distract from it

We believe one of the secrets to great picture framing is simple: the frame should enhance the artwork, not compete with it!

Sometimes, the right frame makes all the difference. This beautiful artwork by Runa Mareuty, was bought into us recently for framing. It's a lovely example of how the right combination of frame, mount and colour can bring a piece to life.

Featuring delicate pinks, soft blues and intricate decorative details, the artwork has plenty to draw the eye. The challenge is to choose a frame that will enhance those details, without overpowering them.

For this piece, the soft, textured mount creates a calm border around the illustration, giving it space to breathe. Its warm, neutral tone works beautifully with the artwork’s gentle colours, while the elegant gold-toned frame adds a little warmth and definition.
