Being a print production specialist means understanding every stage of the journey from camera to finished print.

We've always been print specialists

Although photography has changed dramatically since we opened our doors in 1976, our philosophy never has.

Back in the 1970's, 80's, 90's, and early 2000's, our studio included a traditional photographic laboratory and darkroom.

Every photograph was developed on-site, by hand.

Negatives were processed, prints were exposed under enlargers, colours were balanced manually, and every finished photograph passed through skilled hands before it reached our customers.

Print production wasn't an extra service. It was simply how professional photography was done.

Today, while the technology has evolved, our commitment hasn't changed.

Instead of film and darkrooms, we now work with professional digital cameras, colour-managed workflows, advanced software and the highest quality professional print labs.

The tools may be different, but the craftsmanship remains exactly the same.

Why do so many photographers only supply digital images?

Over the 15 years the photography industry has changed significantly.

Many modern photography businesses now offer a photoshoot followed by a gallery of digital images, leaving customers to organise printing themselves - if they ever get around to it!

...There are several reasons for this.

Providing digital files is often quicker and simpler than designing wall art, sourcing premium products, managing colour profiles, overseeing professional printing and ensuring every finished piece meets high standards.

For some studios, digital delivery has become the easiest business model - and that's awesome for them!

But, in our opinion it means that many beautiful family photographs never make it beyond a phone, computer or cloud storage account.

They're shared online for a while, then gradually disappear amongst thousands of other images.
